JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for prompt, courteous service to the banquet guests serving drinks and food as well as maintenance of the banquet areas.

 

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Provides the highest quality of service to members at all times.
  2. Serves food and beverage items by following proper club procedures.
  3. Clears tables and returns all equipment to their respective areas. Retrieve all reusable food items and return to respective areas.
  4. Gather all equipment necessary to service a function and maintain a clear and immaculate service corridor.
  5. Assist in moving tables and chairs as assigned.
  6. If assigned a cash bank, following all cash handling procedures as required.
  7. Verifies age of all guests.  Do not serve guests that are intoxicated.
  8. Observes "clean as you go" method.  Always cleans dishes, glasses, etc. from the tables immediately.
  9. At the end of shift makes sure all items are put away and secured.
  10. Serves food items according to department procedures.
  11. Before leaving, check with manager/supervisor to inspect work area.
  12. Assists management staff in proper liquor inventory.
  13. Cleans all banquet equipment at the end of function and when instructed to do so by manager/supervisor on duty.
  14. Knowledgeable of local and state liquor laws.
  15. Assists when needed to setup of lounge, buffet, dining area and/or any special events.
  16. Wears proper uniform and name tag at all times in accordance with the Standards of Personal Appearance.
  17. Has a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  18. Through training in service, continues to practice skills learned.
  19. Practices safety standards at all times.
  20. Adheres to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including but not limited to, those contained in the Employee Handbook.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic skills in reading and writing.
  • Minimum one year experience as server in a banquet setting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.

OTHER:

  1. Interact professionally with other employees, members and guests and work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  2. Perform quality work within deadlines.
  1. Must be available for emergency and scheduled work requirements on evenings, weekends or holidays
  2. Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.
  3. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
  4. Requires long periods of time standing, lifting, carrying trays, frequent bending and reaching.
  5. Essential hand/eye coordination.
  6. Frequent exposure to kitchen cooking smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold.
  7. Communicates with grill cooks and other servers.
  8. Substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers.
  9. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts from knives, slipping, tripping falls and burns.
  10. Frequent washing of hands will require contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items.
